Colder Air = More Power
With today's turbocharged engines cooling is critical for both performance and longevity. The factory Mustang Ecoboost intercooler is undersized, even in 100% stock applications. Under normal driving conditions it is possible to heat soak the core which leads to extremely hot charge air temperatures sometimes exceeding 150* F. Once the computer registers these temps it immediately takes steps to reduce power. This is why your car may feel slower on hot days or after a few consecutive long gear pulls. When you elect to turn up the boost, have the ecu flashed, or add additional performance enhancing modifications the problem is compounded further. Intercooler bolted right in and attached easily to carryover charge air ducts. I immediately noticed a reduction in air intake temperatures and an increase in performance. My air intake temperatures are generally close to ambient temps. The unit is very well made, I particularly like the cast aluminum endtanks.
